Who on earth is Fete Artisan Marshmallow?
“In Fete Artisan Marshmallow, we endeavor to bring all natural, delicious gourmet marshmallows to Malaysians.” Carmen and Julian started this off merely as an idea, but it slowly grew on to them as they studied and explored about marshmallows. Happiness and all things beautiful are meant to be shared, and Fete Artisan Marshmallows wants to do exactly that with their unique flavored marshmallows for their fans! Hop on the joyride to all things sweet and wonderfully made!
Here are some of the flavors that they have got to offer! :
Apart from being delicious and irresistible, Fete artisan marshmallow has also won many hearts with their beautifully designed packaging for their marshmallows! Thinking of creative ideas to give out gifts for your loved ones? Why not a bouquet of beautifully arranged Fete Marshmallows sticks?
Now we don’t want you to just love marshmallows, we want you to know more about them, so we’re going to shed more light on marshmallows’s past in other countries.
Marshmallows contains a herb called Althaea Officinalis, which can grow in a marshy wet environment. A Greek physician advised that marshmallows extracts can be used in treating wounds and inflammation. During the Renaissance period, extracts from the plants’ roots and leaves were used for medicinal purposes, one of them being soothing agents for sore throats.
On the other hand, ancient Egyptians consumed marshmallows as a delicacy that is served only to gods and royalties (imagine how they would react to our easy-access to the mass produced marshmallows).
Now, onto the world’s biggest consumer: Americans. They were first introduced to marshmallows in the 1900s. By the 1950’s, they were buying them like crazy! Who wouldn’t fall for these sweet treats! They weren’t just bought from the bag, but marshmallows were also added in recipes. It has also been a backyard tradition in North America to roast marshmallows over a campfire. This creates a caramelised outer skin with a liquid molten layer underneath it. Mmm!
There was also a Guinness World Record made for the largest S’Mores which was set in California ten years ago. It consisted of 20,000 marshmallows, 7000 chocolate bars AND 24,000 graham crackers!
We hope that all this talk on marshmallows would leave you craving for some from Fete Artisan this Saturday at Markets! See you there!
